Danny Diablo a.k.a. Lord Ezec is an underground recording artist focusing mainly in the worlds of hardcore punk and hip hop. He has fronted the hardcore bands Crown of Thornz and Skarhead and is known for his heavily tattooed image and his Queens-bred thug lifestyle.

Dan Singer was born in Manhattan, New York. He was the first of three children of a Puerto Rican woman from the East River Houses of Spanish Harlem and a Brooklyn-born, Polish-Jew beat cop from her neighborhood.
Danny was a street kid who started writing graffiti at an early age and made a name for himself on the streets as a tough guy. His street name or graffiti tag was Lord Ezec.
Danny was stabbed with an 8-inch screwdriver and almost died in 1993. He then chased the person who stabbed him and took care of business.[clarification needed] He was almost charged by the court because of the beating the stabber took.[citation needed] He spent almost two months at St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan.
Diablo was also arrested for attempted murder in 1998 and swore to change his life with music when he was released.
Diablo is a father to his son Dillinger Moses Singer who was born December 10, 2008. Dillinger's mother is Natasha Nicholson, who is also a singer, model and songwriter. Natasha Nicholson's father is Michael Horse, an American Indian musician, actor, jeweler, painter, sculptor and activist.
Musical career
Introduction to music
In the 1980s, Jackson Heights and its surrounding neighborhoods became the center point for an offshoot of punk rock known as New York hardcore. Danny saw his first CBGB hardcore matinee in 1987. Danny quickly identified with the aggression and outsider attitude of this underground community. Having already found some underground notoriety while using his graffiti moniker, "Lord Ezec", Danny soon immersed himself in this world of misfits.
Having a reputation as a fierce, rugged fighter got Danny an invitation to become a roadie for Sick of it All on their 1992 US tour with Biohazard.
Crown of Thornz
In 1994 Danny formed the critically acclaimed NYHC act Crown of Thornz along with former Breakdown guitarist Mike Dijan and Shelter bassist Franklin Rhi. Crown of Thornz released their debut EP "Train Yard Blues" in 1995 on Equal Vision Records.
In 1995, Danny and Crown of Thornz took part in the N.Y.H.C. documentary. Their live performances were captured (including a fight breaking out during the opening song of their set) as well as an insightful interview where he speaks about the tragic suicide of his younger brother as well as the time he was stabbed by a crackhead.
In 1996, Crown of Thornz delivered their only full-length album, "Mentally Vexed" on Another Planet Records, a subsect of Profile Records. They officially disbanded in 1998.
Skarhead
1995 also found Danny branching off to form a new and more aggressive "Thugcore" side-project named Skarhead along with members of Madball and Subzero.[1] Skarhead was conceived as a side-project featuring a revolving roster of notable hardcore personalities. Some of which include Freddy Madball, Lu DiBella of Subzero, Boston Mike, Mike Dijan of Crown of Thornz, Puerto Rican Myke from District 9 and Sammy Krslovic.
The "Drugs, Money, Sex" EP was released in 1996 on Another Planet Records as well. This was followed up in 1998 by the “Kings at Crime” full-length on Victory Records and the posthumously released live & best-of record, “NY Thugcore: The Hardcore Years 1994–2000” on Triple Crown Records in 2001.
Skarhead toured with Hatebreed, The Misfits, and Gwar in the late 90's.
In 2009 Skarhead signed a worldwide deal with I Scream Records and released their long-awaited new record "Drugs, Music & Sex" in November 2009. The World Domination 2010 show dates [2] Current Members: Lord Ezec (Vox),Puerto Rican Myke (Vox),Matt Mangiaracina (Guitar) of Subzero / Merauder ,AK Ray Rodriguez (Guitar),Cliff "Rigg" Ross (Drums)
Skam Dust from the womb of Skarhead, is a thunderbolt of terror, internationally known and locally hated; he is here to sabotage the stage. Your favorite hero got his start when he was on the lam in the mid-'90s touring with the infamous Skarhead getting a better taste of N.Y.H.C., partnering in crime with Lord Ezec from Jackson Heights. Skam was destined to rock the mic and stir up chaos in the underground with his brothers from the world famous D.M.S. Crew...
After the legendary Skarhead tour, Lord Ezec told Skam he should start a band and then Son Of Skam was born!!! They did a few things here and there but never really went full throttle with the music. With three other singers in the group Skam needed to do his own shit and show the world how this crazy Cuban/Dominican destroys the mic.
In the words of Skam: "My lyrics tell my story in the most explicit way possible.
These stories are informed by who I am and where I grew up: the Bermuda Triangle of NY called Corona Queens and known to many as Spaghetti Park. These streets are full characters and this is where my inner circle and story began.
I recall a time when the police and the public were in a state of panic caused by the 44 Killer, otherwise known as the Son Of Sam, he was on the loose and filling the city with terror. Meanwhile NYC was undergoing a city-wide blackout, it was wild. I share moments like this and speak about the days when crack cocaine was destroying lives and graffiti was on every subway train.
My lyrics reminisce about the days spent riding shotgun with my dad, who worked many hours as a NYC yellow cabbie. Through these rides I glimpsed a world outside of my own neighborhood. I met some real New Yorkers and heard their stories; authentic taxi-cab confessions. Today I write to bring my New York City experience to life. As I say in “Five Borough Manhunt”, “If the streets could talk, you wouldn’t want to walk it/ Eyes and hearts have been taken by the pocket.” To understand more, listen to the music and check my new video."
Fast forward to 2010 where Skam Dust is ready to bring you his first full length album "Corona Drug Bust" with a whole bunch of new tunes as well as the classic Son Of Skam tracks! The title track and lead single has guest vocals from long time friend Freddy Madball and the video they shot also features Damian Burnz and Peter Greene... Danny Diablo aka Lord Ezec (Skarhead, Crown Of Thornz), Grizz Rock (Ruff Ryders, Shotblockers), Karl Buechner (Earth Crisis) all laid out guest verses on Skam's latest effort... This is true thug-core straight from “The Rotten Apple!!!”. Skam Dust is ready to rock!

MARUTA (Usa, Willowtip Rec)
www.myspace.com/maruta

Maruta was concieved in october 2005. After being in several south floridian grindcore and metal acts, founding member Mitchell Luna and Nick Augusto had the intentions of starting an abrasive grind/powerviolence band. They joined forces with guitar player Jeff Stevenson, managed to pump out half a dozen songs, and immediatey began playing shows up and down the long desolate state of Florida.

A 4 song demo was released shortly thereafter. Less than a year into the bands existence, Jeff left the fold, and the band teamed up with guitar player Eduardo Borja, who helped incorporate more dissonant and technical elements to the band's sound, and their approach to grindcore. Maruta did several DIY tours in 2006 and 2007, playing the foulest piss drenched basements, and the seediest bars North America has to offer. Needless to say, the boys had a good time and made some good friends.

In 2008, Maruta embarked on a full U.S. tour with Phobia, Impaled, Malignancy,Kill the client, and Illogicist. They also participated in the Relapse records "This comp kills facists" release with 2 exclusive songs. The band's first full length finally surfaced after many technical difficulties, and long inebriated angry nights in the studio. " IN NARCOSIS" was released October of 2008 via the infamous forward thinking metal label, Willowtip.

2009 came along, Maruta toured the U.S. midwest and east-coast alongside Rotten sound, Crowpath, and Misery Index (select dates) to coincide with their performance at Maryland Death Fest 7. The group returned home and began pumping out new material, but the line-up change curse struck, when drummer Nick Augusto decided to leave the band to pursue playing more commercial music.

in 2010, the band recruited Orlando locals Daniel Morris and Mauro Cordoba. With a new drummer, and the addition of a bass player for the first time, Maruta took a hiatus from playing live shows, and focused solely on getting their 2nd full length "FORWARD INTO REGRESSION" completed. It was recorded August of 2010 @ Mana Studios, by Brian Elliot, and featured a bit more death metal influence than the bands previous recordings.

2011 Maruta has a 4 and a half week European tour lined up alongside Wormrot, and well as several U.S. performances in the pipeline.

Maruta is basically 4 humble individuals simply doing what they love to do best: playing some fucking grind. "We live it. We breathe it".

Lento is an instrumental band from Rome, Italy.

The former members joined in 2004 and started working out on a sort of introspective and implosive approach, taking their cue from a wide range of influences including seminal bands such as Neurosis, Swans and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

In late 2005, Lento began structuring the basement of a more elaborate mood. Incorporating elements of ambient, doom and hardcore, Lento has created a perfect opposition between sludge heavy riffs and ambient psychedelic suites.
Lento's tone is a blend of heavily down tuned guitars, apocalyptic slow tempos, systematic drones and resonant feedbacks, their live sets alternate from hardcore assaults to intimate collapses of the signals.

In June 2007 they released "Supernaturals record one" with Ufomammut for Supernaturalcat, a super hypnotic and telluric monster in which the two bands play around repetitive atmosphere broken by fragile openings.

In November 2007 they released their first full lenght Earthen for Supernaturalcat, distributed in USA by Relapse.
They toured a lot Italy and Europe, sharing the stage with bands such as Baroness, Pelican, Torche, Nomeansno, Amenra, Liars, Zu, Ufomammut and many more.
Their brand new album will be released by Denovali records in Spring 2011.

The BUSINESS were formed towards the end of the seventies in UK with a line-up consisting of Micky Fitz-Steve Kent-Martin Smith and Nick Cunningham. Their first apperance on vinyl came in 1981 on the VU Records compilation 'Sudden Surge Of Sound' with the track 'Out in the cold'. The album also featured the UK SUBS and Laura Logic, formerly X-RAY SPEX. The Business track did not fare too well with the music press and one critic described it as "an angry bastard version of Status Quo". The group next turned up on the 'Carry On Oi!' LP which featured two songs by them.

A month later they released their debut single 'Harry may' which reached the top ten in Sounds independant chart, and is now quite hard to find. The original line-up split soon after it's telease and the last track they recorded was 'Step Into christmas' for the 'Bollocks to Christmas' EP(Dec.'81). Also released in December was the '1980-81 Official Bootleg' on Syndicate Records. This mixed live and demo recordings from the first incarnation of the band.

Micky Fitz wasted no time in re-forming the band with the help of Steve Whale, Mark Brennan, Graham Ball(ex-Conflict) and John Fisher(later to join Combat 84). The band only survived long enough to play one gig and Ball and Fisher left. Kev Boyce was drafted in to fill the vacant drum-stool and recorded an EP 'Smash The discos' with the band in March '82. The single spent six weeks in the indie chart peaking at number one spot by Pigbag's quarter of a million selling 'Papa's got a brand new Pigbag'. Before the release of the band's delayed first album, they appeared on two compilations in 1982. 'Total Noise' EP featured a studio version of 'Loud proud and punk' and the secret Records 'Oi Oi that's yer lot' LP inclued 'Real Enemy'. The business debut album 'Suburban Rebels' was finally released in May 1983 and reached number 37 in the national charts.

The LP was produced by Micky Geggus of the COCKNEY REJECTS, but was not technically their true first album. The original first album was produced by Ron Rouman(the band's manager) but The Business were not happy with the mix, so they decided to remix themselves. However, when they went to do this they found the tapes had mysteriously disappeared. So they borrowed £2,000 from Secret and re-recorded the album. The tapes finally came to light when Secret licensed the song 'Blind Justice' to Cherry Red for use in the 'UK/DK' video and sound-track LP(released 1983).

Apparently Secret had sent, by mistake the Geggus mixes instead of the Rouman LP. The original Rouman produced album finally surfaced on the 'Back to Back Vol.2' double LP on wonderful World records in 1985. The album was titled 'Smash The discos'(later re-issued on Link) and iclued covers of Crass's 'Do they owe us a living' and Sham 69 'Tell us the truth''. The band was unable to record during most of 1984 due to legal hassles with Secret and trouble with their management. However, in september they returned again with a new LP 'Loud Proud and punk- Live' and a new drummer Micky Fairbairn. The album went down well with the music press and gained a five star review in Sounds.

1985 proved to be a productive year with the new line-up releasing their first 12" 'Get Out Of My House' ; two double LP's 'Back To Back-Vol.1' and the already mentioned volume 2; and the controversial 'Drinking and driving' . The latter was released on 7" and 12", the 12" containing a cover of SHAM 69's 'Harry up Harry'. The single did not impress the public, especially Professor Brian Pritchard of Action on Drinking and driving. He was quoted in the national press as saying: "The record is absolutely criminal, the group should be prosecuted for aiding and abetting manslaughter"(!!)

An album followed in December '85 entitled 'Saturday's heroes' which inclued 'Drinking and Driving' and another 'offensive' song - the title track 'Saturday's heroes'. The song was a tongue-in-cheek tribute to football hooliganism, but again was treated seriously and with contempt. Record wise, apart from songs on various compilations, The business were not heard of again until the release of 'Do a runner' in February '88(a brilliant song reminiscent of COCK SPARRER). Dojo Records kept the band's name alive prior to this by releasing a compilation LP in june '86. 'Singalongabusiness' contained singles A and B-sides, plus various odds and sods. The 12" 'Do a runner' was issued on Link records(which was formed by Business bass player Mark Brennan in '87).

An LP 'Welcome to the real world' followed quickly in May '88. As well as containing original Business songs it also contained versions of songs originally written for Prole and The Blackout(bands which Business members had been previously involved in). In October '88 a four-track EP was given away with the first issue of 'Beat Of The Street' magazine. The inclued song was a live version of 'Do a runner' recorded at the Lisieux Festival in Normandy-France and which was to be the band's last ever gig.

On Saturday April 2nd 1988, The Business played their final English gig at the Astoria in london. A crowd of 1500 attented and the event was recorded by Link and issued as the 'Live and Loud' LP. The band split up shortly after the aforementioned French Festival...

Biography by Martin Sumper

2007- Torino, the darkest city in Italy, gave birth to a rising legend in hardcore: Concrete Block. Within only a few months of forming, they became one of the most active bands in Italy.
With an attitude that comes from years on the streets -- not on a shelf at the mall -- Concrete Block's sound reflects the discomfort and anguish of those who live day to day with their back against a wall, taki...ng all kicks and punches life serves up.
After their first successful CDEP “Down With the Madness” came out on Countdown Records in July '07, Concrete Block played constantly and shared the stage with Sepultura, Sick Of It All, Murphy's Law, Maroon, Shatteread Realm,Skarhead,Agnostic Front and many more.
In 2008 they released their first full length album “Life Is Brutal”, produced by Daniele Giordana. For many people “Life Is Brutal” is the definitive Italian hardcore album of the year! Visualizza altro
Influenze
MADBALL, HATEBREED, SICK OF IT ALL, AGNOTIC FRONT, CRO MAGS, WARZONE, SEPULTURA, SLAYER, MACHINE HEAD, CROWBAR, ICEPICK...
